Europe for Citizens: first meeting held in 2016
2 Mar 2016The first presentation of the program Europe for Citizens in 2016 was held on January 25th in Belgrade, attended by over 50 representatives of civil society organizations and local governments from across Serbia.
In the period 2016-2020 program EFC has new multi-year priorities, which were presented in this meeting. Particularly interesting topics to domestic program users are: memorialization of break out of war in ex-Yugoslavia in 1991, democratic transition and accession to the European Union, as well as solidarity in time of crisis.
Along with learning about structure and aims of the Program, attendees of the presentation had a chance to be introduced to experiences of project responsible from Serbia, who are participating in the EFC program.
Word on successful preparation of project application and on possible obstacles in process of project preparation and realization was presented by:
• Bojan Milisavljevic, for Municipality Savski venac, as WONET project responsible
• Dragan Lukic, for Association for promotion of inclusion in Serbia, as “Towards European values – persons with disabilities as equal citizens” project responsible
• Djula Ribar, for association Prospero, as TwinCom project responsible
Presentation attendees had numerous questions mainly referring to financial aspects of project realization and to organizing and managing partnerships as mandatory characteristic of EFC projects.
